What is ActionScript?

January 11th, 2009 Posted in ActionScript 3.0

Well, ActionScript is a scripting language,  who is used primarily for the development of websites and software using the AdobeFlashPlayer platform (in the form of SWF files embedded into Web page). Originally developed by Macromedia, the language is now owned by Adobe (which acquired Macromedia in 2005).

Appeared in 1998, ActionScript changed 3 different types of scripting language, which of course had the same purpose.

  • ActionScript 1.0 appeared in 2000.
  • ActionScript 2.0 appeared in 2003.
  • ActionScript 3.0 appeared in 2006.

Well, I work with ActionScript 3.0, but more people still improve their technique, using ActionScript 2.0.

Now let’s get to work!
